Thanks to the generosity of creek-loving people like you who supported our June campaign to Sow the Seeds of a Wetland, our vision to grow a seedbank of important local species to restore a hidden refuge in the once-vast Herne Swamp community, will become a reality.

Your donations helped us raise $49,492 to sow the seeds of a wetland, the most we've ever raised in an MCMC campaign. This is an amazing result, and it simply wouldn’t have been possible without you!

That support will help fund:

• Ecological burning to restore fire regimes
• Targeted weed control to protect rare species
• Propagation of threatened wetland plants
• Community workshops to grow skills and involvement in restoration

Together, these actions will protect some of the last remaining populations of key wetland species in the Merri Creek catchment – and help lay the groundwork for restoring Herne Swamp into the future.

We’re so grateful to be part of a community that believes in the power of local action to restore and protect our natural landscapes and waterways. From all of us at Merri Creek Management Committee – thank you for your support.
