Please note: The planting location is at the eastern corner of Burnley Park, the closest access point is from Yarra Boulevard, next to the Hawthorn Railway Bridge. Event Marquees are located opposite the playground, in the centre of the park
Burnley Park serves as an essential urban sanctuary for wildlife, emphasizing the importance of creating habitats that support the health of the Birrarung (Yarra River), through targeted planting.
Flora selected for this planting project aims to improve the quality of the remnant nationally recognized Endangered EVC Plains Grassy Woodland, of which less than 1% remains in Australia. This initiative not only contributes to supporting pollinators and biodiversity, but also plays a vital role in the conservation of a critically diminished ecosystem
